Steelers vs Seahawks Recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Seattle Seahawks last night at Heinz Field. The Steelers couldn’t bounce back from their week one loss and the Seahawks claimed a 28-26 victory over the Steelers.

The game started off slow, with both teams making plays but not being able to follow through. Stephon Tuitt and T.J. Watt both made sacks in the first quarter. The first points of the game were won by the Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger handed off the ball to James Conner in order to achieve the first touchdown of the game. Not long after, the Seahawks made their way onto the scoreboard. Javon Hargrave got a sack and Chris Boswell made a field goal, making the score 10-3 in favor of the Steelers by halftime. Roethlisberger left the game with an injury to his throwing arm, and would not get back out of the field for the remainder of the game.

Mason Rudolph relieved Roethlisberger for the second half of the game. The Seahawks quickly made another touchdown, and the Steelers retaliated with a field goal. The Seahawks were up 21-13 by the end of the third quarter. Rudolph threw a touchdown pass to Vance McDonald, making the score 21-19. The Steelers were starting to make their way back into the game when the Seahawks came back again to make the score 28-19. Devin Bush made his way down the field and helped McDonald get into the end zone. The Steelers couldn’t make any more plays, however, and the game ended a Steelers loss of 28-26.

Injuries this week included Ben Roethlisberger, Vince Williams, James Conner, Sean Davis, and Anthony Chickillo. The Steelers will play the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, September 22nd at 4:25 P.M.
