Steelers vs Colts Recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Indianapolis Colts yesterday at Heinz Field. The Steelers managed to squeeze by at the end of the game and come out victorious.

The game started off similarly to how it did last week. The Steelers got off to a poor and slow start when Mason Rudolph was intercepted, which set up the Colts to get the first field goal of the game. The Steelers were able to gain control of the ball, however, and Chris Boswell also made a field goal. At the end of the first quarter, the game was tied 3-3. The Colts started the second quarter with a bang by getting a touchdown. The Steelers were trying to gain momentum and Minkah Fitzpatrick helped them do just that. He made an interception and took the ball down 96 yards to get a touchdown. The Colts continued to put pressure on the Steelers when they got their second touchdown of the game, but Boswell was able to make another field goal. The score was 13-16 in favor of the Colts going into halftime.

The Steelers came out stronger in the second half. Mark Barron and T.J. Watt got a sack at the beginning of the third quarter. The Steelers offense became more aggressive and Vance McDonald was able to get a touchdown. At the end of the third quarter, the Steelers were up 20-18. Boswell made his third field goal of the game in the fourth quarter. The Colts were able to retaliate by getting another touchdown, but Boswell made yet another field goal. Watt, Mike Hilton, and Bud Dupree all made big plays when they sacked the Colts’ quarterback. After a lot of hard work to bounce back from the slow start, the game ended in a 26-24 victory for the Steelers.

There were a few notable accomplishments to mention that took place during this game. JuJu Smith-Schuster became the youngest player in NFL history to reach 200 career receptions. Fitzpatrick’s interception return for a touchdown is now the second-longest in regular-season Steelers history. The Steelers will need to carry this momentum into their next game against the Los Angeles Rams.
