Steelers vs Ravens Recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Baltimore Ravens yesterday in overtime. The final score was 23-26, dropping the Steelers’ season record to 1-4.

The Ravens were quick to score first when they made a field goal. They didn’t stop there and made a touchdown shortly thereafter. The Steelers were able to retaliate when Mason Rudolph sent a touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster. The score was 7-10 in favor of the Ravens at the end of the first quarter. The Ravens kept their momentum up in the second quarter when they made another touchdown. The Steelers attempted to slow the other team down when Kameron Kelly made his first career interception. Chris Boswell made two field goals, T.J. Watt got a touchdown, and Vince Williams sacked the Ravens’ quarterback. At the end of the second quarter, the Steelers had 13 points and the Ravens had 17 points.

The third quarter started off with a bang when Devin Bush made an interception. The night took a turn, however, when the team lost Rudolph. He was hit, instantly knocked unconscious, and fell to the ground. Rudolph left the game and was taken to the hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion. He was released from the hospital later that night and will be going through the NFL’s concussion protocol. This is the best-case scenario for what seemed like a much scarier situation. Devlin Hodges was put in as quarterback for the rest of the game.

Once the game resumed, James Conner was able to rush into the endzone for another touchdown. The Steelers were back on top at the end of the third quarter, with the score being 20-17. The team couldn’t keep their lead, however. The Ravens scored a field goal, tying up the score. Boswell made another field goal, but so did the Ravens. The game headed into overtime and the Ravens eventually got the victory.

The Steelers’ next game is on Sunday, October 13 at 8:20 P.M. against the Los Angeles Chargers.
