Steelers vs Browns Recap

Steelers vs Browns Recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers were up against the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday, December 1st. The rivalry between the two teams was explosive the last time they faced off two weeks ago, so this game was expected to be a tough one.

The Steelers and Browns kept things relatively civil during their highly anticipated rematch at Heinz Field. The Steelers were looking to come back from their previous loss to the Browns and take control of the game. The first quarter began with T.J. Watt making a sack. He has registered at least a half sack in nine consecutive games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL. The Browns were the first to score, however, when they made a field goal. The score at the end of the first quarter was 3-0 in favor of the Browns. The Browns came into the third quarter with confidence and scored the first touchdown of the game. The Steelers started to find a rhythm and got some points on the scoreboard when Chris Boswell made a field goal. Devlin Hodges, the third-string quarterback who started the game, threw a touchdown pass to James Washington. This tied up the game 10-10 at halftime.

The Steelers went into the third quarter looking to take control of the game. Benny Snell made his first career touchdown, making the score 17-10 in favor of the Steelers. The Steelers’ defense stopped the Browns from getting any more points for the rest of the third quarter. Boswell made another field goal to start off the final quarter. Cam Sutton sacked Baker Mayfield, so the Browns decided to go for a field goal. Javon Hargrave got a sack, making Steelers rank second in the NFL in sacks. Joe Haden intercepted the ball, which took away the Browns’ chance of scoring more points. The game ended in a 20-13 victory for the Steelers.

The Steelers’ next game is on Sunday, December 8th at 4:25 P.M. against the Arizona Cardinals.
