Steelers vs Browns Preview

The Pittsburgh Steelers are taking on the Cleveland Browns for Thursday Night Football. The game will take place at FirstEnergy Stadium at 8:20 P.M. on Thursday, November 14th.

Both teams are fresh off of victories from this past Sunday. The Browns defeated the Buffalo Bills 19-16 and the Steelers beat the Los Angeles Rams 17-12. The two teams have very different records on the season, however. The Steelers currently sit at 5-4 whereas the Browns are coming into this week at 3-6. Neither side has had the perfect season, but they will both be fighting for the win tonight.

Minkah Fitzpatrick is expected to make big plays for the Steelers this week. In two straight games, he has forced game-swinging turnovers and converted those plays into points. In eight games with the Steelers, Fitzpatrick has four interceptions, which is the most by a Steeler since 2010. Fitzpatrick has not only already proved that the team made a great choice trading for him, but he is quickly becoming one of the league’s best safeties. With the addition of Fitzpatrick, the Steelers’ defense has become very strong and difficult to play against. Devin Bush and T.J. Watt are also solid players on the defensive line.

Two other players to watch out for are Baker Mayfield and Mason Rudolph. Mayfield was the number one overall pick in the NFL draft last year, while Rudolph wasn’t selected until the third round. However, Rudolph has stepped up since Ben Roethlisberger’s injury and helped win games. Rudolph has been pretty effective running the Steelers’ offense. Mayfield, on the other hand, is prone to turnovers and an overall lack of big plays. He may have a hard time against the Steelers’ defense who is known for generating turnovers.

This will be a tough game for both teams. Be sure to tune into the game to watch it all go down.
