Steelers vs Cardinals Preview
The Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, December 8th at 4:25 P.M. The Steelers are coming off of a win against the Cleveland Browns, while the Cardinals took a tough loss against the Los Angeles Rams last week.
This is a game that the Steelers need to win in order to stay in the playoff hunt. It has been over eight years since the Steelers have traveled to Phoenix, Arizona, so it’s difficult to predict how the team will do. The team has won seven of their last 10 games, however, and they will be looking to win their third in a row at State Farm Stadium. Devlin “Duck” Hodges has been named the starting quarterback again. Hodges connected very well with James Washington in last week’s game and they are expected to continue to do so.
The Steelers have also faced multiple injuries over the past few weeks, particularly on offense. JuJu Smith-Schuster is still out on a knee injury, while Diontae Johnson and James Conner are both listed as limited. Vance McDonald and Mark Barron were both held out of practice, as well. However, Maurkice Pouncey has finished serving his two-game suspension and has been removed from the Exempt/Commissioner Permission List. The Steelers will have one of their captains and leaders back on the field, which can only help their chances.
The Cardinals also are facing multiple players out with injuries, too. Despite these injuries and a five-game losing streak, the team will be looking for the win so they can bounce back from their difficult loss. The Steelers’ schedule only gets tougher after this game. They currently sit at 7-5 on the season, so this win is necessary. Tune into the game on Sunday afternoon to see how the game unfolds.
